John Fisher provides the detailed structure of the Hospitality Consulting operations.
With over 35 years in the industry, it’s his commitment to excellence in service and
product that keeps him motivated to excel in hospitality. A native of the area, John has
returned to Kingston to continue to work in hospitality. His hands-on management style,
eye for detail, coaching skills, and ability to support a company’s vision, make him a
natural choice for supporting your operation. Recognizing that owners/operators have
invested greatly into their life-long dream, can sometimes not see the issues they’re
facing. John focuses on delivering a memorable experience each and every time while
identifying the operational challenges the business is having. Cost and inventory controls
along with policies and procedures and well-trained staff make for a well-run operation.
John believes creating and maintaining a respectful workplace transforms the guest
with an amazing experience.
John’s international experience includes the development and opening of facilities in the
UK, Europe, United Arab Emirates, and the United States. A challenging enterprise
opening a facility on behalf of a senior Ambassador of Dubai is his greatest
accomplishment to date. Other notable accomplishments include the opening of Canada's
first Dave and Buster: North America’s leading entertainment facility featuring leisure
activities, attractions, restaurants, catering, and corporate functions. He was the General
Manager of this highly successful Canadian flagship store in Toronto. Following a
destructive hurricane in South Florida that damaged Gulfstream Park, John was sent to
relaunch this world-class racing and entertainment facility. At the time of the re-building,
the plans included the opening of a casino which was the first government-run Racino in
Florida. His role as Hospitality Director included all aspects of the food and beverage
department including a 5-star dining room, corporate functions, dining rooms, bars, and
concessions. Hotel operations specifically in food and beverage rounds out his many
years in the industry.
A life-long career in restaurants, bars, hotels, cafes, entertainment facilities, and catering
operations, has resulted in an enormous amount of experience. This experience includes
corporate operations, individual enterprises and mom and pop shops.
With everything said, it’s an experience that John brings to identify the best practices in
operations and the challenges that operators are facing. A no-nonsense and realistic
approach is what every client can expect.
